4l80e US shift controller
I bought a 1991 gmc with a 4l80e trans/np205 tcase (passenger drop) with a vss. The truck is an old slope truck that had a 6.2 diesel. The prior owner swapped out the 6.2 for a carburated 350. He kept the same torque converter at the time of the swap. The truck did not come with a vss harness or throttle positioning sensor (needed for the trans controller) which would explain the erratic shifting and no speedometer readings.
Anyway, im trying to decide on what to do with this truck. I would like to sell it and get some money back that i put into it but that would require investing more into it. So.. What would be a cheap solution? I would like to think a manual valve body 4l80 trans would be a simple swap. Ordering a special throttle positioning sensor and hooking a new vss harness and trans controller would be another route.
If it gets too involved there is always the part out and cut my losses, or invest a bit more and keep it as a back up dd and work truck..
Thoughts on this?

Buy the TPS to make what you have work? $50?

Or a proper new controller is $500-600.

A place called Jaguars That has a VSS converter that may. work for you. They probably offer a wiring harness for it also. No idea about price. Good Luck.

Re: 4l80e US shift controller
Ended up scavenging a vss harness from a 94/95 checy. Im going to pull the harness and re wire it and double check how the prior owner pinned the harness connectors. The tps from us quick shift is $120 for my holley as per the phone converstion. So with a little work money and research i am hoping this is resolved

They're a good go-to resource for getting combinations of GM parts to work together.
