I acually have two z28's, one is a t top the other is a solid top. I plan on building both but for now Im sticking with the solid top car. they both have 10 bolt rear ends with posi, I will be on the look out for a 12 bolt with posi, but that might wait untell I blow the 10 bolt out.
when I got it it was in pretty rough shape, the floor behind the drivers seat needs replaced due to the driver window being busted out years ago. there spots behind the doors that were rusted threw however the trunk is compleatly solid, has straight fenders and hood with all the grill peaces and what not. the interior is in decint shape, only the carpet will need replaced and the head liner is sagging, but I will use a spray adhessive to put it back up. Im still not sure what Im going to do for a engine/tranny, I want to get it running with a used engine for now, then start building off a 350 block for dropping down the road.. there is no trans in it right now, but it does have a hurst pro-matic 2 ratchet shifter in it. and I need to find a set of flares that go on the front bumpers. so far this is what I have done, replaced the drivers window, threw some of my crager rims on it (has to look cool durring the build.. ha) and I took the nose peace off my t top camaro for this one because this one has a crack in one of the corners. I also chopped the lame exhaust off that it had, Im going to go straight from the headers to a set of glass packs which will angle out right before the rear tires so it will have the old muscle car look and sound to it. for the engine I have for it right now is a 305 (or a 307? the guy wasnt sure what it was) that came out of a nova, this engine will be temporary untell I can get one build for it. as for the t top camaro, it looks rough in the pictures, but the body is pretty straight and there is only minor surface rust. all I'v done to it is cleaned the rear brakes up and today I put new rear wheel studs in. the pass window is busted out and all the intertior needs redone. I stole the nose off it for my other one, so this one will have a crack in the nose which will be fixxed when I get around to building this one, for now Im just going to do little stuff to it. any ideas, tips? here are some pictures I took of the t top camaro. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You picked up a couple cars from Mel too?
Seems like everyone got something from there now! Good luck with them, they looked like pretty solid cars overall. -Nick

Sounds like quite the haul. I went there looking for parts for the Nova Im starting to restore, and ended up buying the red '67 Camaro he had. In fact I need to call him back and see if he ever found the other body panels yet.
Keep us updated with pics, always good to see more go back on the road! -Nick

Is that the guy on Craigslist who lists he has a few hundred cars for sale? You've taken on quite a task, I love working on my projects, but I don't envy that one at all. How clean is that silver 70-73 Camaro that I see in the background? Also is that a 69 stock car Camaro? I might have to check out this guy's yard and see what all is there!

the 70's camaro your talking about is a type LT, it would take quite a bit of work to get it going. it has some cancer on the rear 1/4'rs. Im going over there tonight, I'll double check what year it is.
pretty sure the stock car is a 68, been raced at capital and is pretty rough, no engine trans or rear end in that one. still has a full cage in it... he told me I could pick that up for pretty cheap if I wanted it.. I seen the red camaro, I wanted it.. looked like some one took a axe to it though! I got the black nose peace off the t top swapped onto the hard top.. Im trying to sell some stuff so I can build a engine and trans for it.. anyways, got some pictures of the hard top that Im putting together. with the busted front peace on it.. ![]() ![]() no more nose cone on the t top ![]() tossed some rims on the back, tires dont match though.. ![]() ![]() new door glass ![]() t top nose on hard top ![]() hard top nose on the t top... its just sittin there. thats about all I'v got done so far. ![]()

Wow...That silver camaro really looks like it is my old 73...
If it is, it will be a 4 speed 350 that had a/c... Looks like I need to poke around and see what all he has...
