Noah let me borrow his, so it's in the garage now:

Thanks for the offers though!

Nate, it's a specific shade that AMC painted all their V8s and some of the pre-1980 I6s. Seymour reproduces it as "AMC Blue," and I picked it up from Bulltear. Nobody said you had to like it! And since you'll probably check in on this thread, 574offroad hooked me up with a couple ZJ honeycomb rims.

That lift looks almost exactly like mine. sept I still have a red ram. I love that it says "shop crane" on the side......

It lives! Broke the cam in this evening. Oil pressure isn't what I want though. I need to get the wiring cleaned up, change the oil, and bolt down the top before I can drive it.

Gas run.

Shell Rotella-T 15W-40 with a bottle of Comp Cams break-in fluid gave me 17ish psi hot idle, but a steady 50 psi at 2500 rpm under load and 70 psi when I hit the peddle. For now, the top is temporarily clamped with 1" clamps from Home Depot until I get some truck-topper clamps ordered.

I guess I haven't updated my build thread in a while.

Hard top clamped down.

Windshield clamps.

100+ miles on the new engine and no distributor gear problems!

Glamour pics on a nice day.

Inverted a shackle during the Fur Rondy parade while ramping on Mahon's tire.

Put on the "Jeep" emblems.

Won a trophy at the Show & Shine.

It flexes OK too.

New shackles to prevent inversion.

Shakedown run at Knik Cleanup.

Brackets to accomodate the WARN winch plate and my spring outboards.

Winch on!

Badco said I should upgrade to 1/2" cardboard for greater shear strength.

Not much of an update. My wife made my start a postal project. In the meantime, I put some bumperettes on temporarily:

Until I get a rear bumper/carrier built, this is better than nothing.

See my thread in the for sale section.

Seriously though, it's not a build so much as a pseudo-restoration project. My wife is enamoured with driving on the right, and likes the idea of the special Alaskan postals' history. I'm undoing an SOA, swapping firewalls to a good tub, and doing a tune-up. Granted, this essentially is a frame-off, but I'm trying to pretend it's not that big of a project.

Less cardboard. Still need to make the caps on either side, and create some structure on the back side. Oh, and actually weld it in. Everything is currently just tacked with my 110.

Man, this thing is beautiful. That polished body is awesome against the black. Front bumper looks great. You plan on burning it in soon? Makes me thing the material I used for mine is gaudy. Guess I can always make another...

Keep the updates coming Rob!

The bumper set up is very nice. You should get great function out of it.

Very impressive.

I have an overwhelming urge to burn up many SD cards with footage of this beast.

Don't be surprised if you catch me 'loving' a corner of this thing when you park it in my vicinity.

Yup; stopped by after the gear died to pick up a hitch (which is presently on the Scrambler) in anticipation of pulling my little 5x8 trailer to SoCal.

Did you sell your Scram to a guy in the Coast Guard? I've seen a nice-ish one running around down there.
