Try Markel's Collision off Lake Otis, heading south, right before 5 Star. He does all the work for Mercedes I believe. He just did my truck, and does excellent work.

That tub and frame will sure make it nice to work on! Are you gonna paint the tub inside and out or rhino line the interior? I can get you some quotes on painting it, also are you planning on a singe stage paint or base clear?

Yeah, you have to paint that. Way too much bling other wise.

So now Scotts garage is full of a bunch of jeeps in various states of disrepair.

Auto body concepts in wasilla. Nate is the owner. He did the pearl paint on my 2005 SUV and matched the paint on my 79 one ton. Did a good job. He is a wheeler also.

Thats pertty, I've seen an alum. tub with a tinted clearcoat on it that looked kinda cool. Toned down the "bling" effect, but still looked different.

I'm just shocked that I can see the floor, and there appears to be room to walk around!

But, if I may make a suggestion, how about tag teaming the green one and getting it finished up before starting on the shiny one? Hmmm?

Sounds like a good plan, but I'm pretty sure RWC plans to try to get his shiny one together quicker than the green one, so he can rub it in my face.

The statement about the garage being full with jeeps in various states of disrepair is no joke though. The other day there was my jeep, RWC's orange jeep (currently not running), the shiny tub, and he had his black jeep in there looking for some oil leak.

That reminds me, I kept getting a whiff of gas once in awhile down there. Didn't see where it was coming from though.

Did you make the dash piece?

How much weight do you save with an aluminum tub? About 10 years ago I found a web site selling blue prints on how to build a hummer body tub. They were about $180. I thought that would be interesting. It would be neat to scale it down to a Jeep or bug size.

i think if you hung the shiny from the ceiling you could fit one more jeep in there.

Maybe, or even if we just turned the tub up on end, I'm sure we could fit another small jeep in there.

But *shush*, don't tell RWC that, he might go and buy something else then.

Okay, hijack off.

RWC, what is the ETA on the frame? And have you decided what you are going to paint it with?

Shock-towers

Tailgate

Windshield frame with new seal and cowl seal

Frame should be here early next week.

I don't know what the weight savings is, but this thing is definitely lighter than a YJ tub.

The gas smell was probably from either the gas tanks under the work bench or the Jerry can on the back of the orange Jeep (my money is on option 2).
