I can't seem to catch a break with these cable shifters...

During the original bolt up of the shifters I had a cable break. The threaded end pulled out of the cable. I emailed NW fabworks and they said they'd get their supplier to warranty the cable. It came in last Thursday.

Got everything bolted up last night and was aligning the shifters. I noticed a scratching sound coming from the second original cable. No biggie.... Until the threaded end pulled of of the cable.... they are going to warranty the second cable.... Is there anyplace I can go locally for another cable? With my luck I'll need a spare

Any place that offers power transmission supplies, Alaska Bearing Company-ABCO on International. Or any Morse Cable dealer, HTH, Good luck!

Oh ya! "Should" have it up and going in the next 2 weeks. I got an open hp d30 w4.56s. Just need to instal the lockrite, new ball joints, unit bearings, weld up the steering and make drive shafts. The list is getting shorter!

I love coming home to car parts

Unit bearings, ball joints, upper control arm bushings and a pinion seal

Today I got the lock right installed, it took about 4 install/uninstalls to get it right :-/ on the second to last final install I snapped the head off a ring gear bolt while torquing it to 80 lbs.

knuckles drilled out for Heim steering

Got the LockRight, new ball joints and upper control arm bushings installed.

I had to use an old lower ball joint to press out the old controll arm bushings. It worked perfect.

Started on making the knuckles double shear. Any tips other than pre/post heating??

It's just tacked in right now

Got a garage day today. Didn't get any of my other jeep project finished but I did tear apart the front end.

AC delete. The condenser was packed with silt. Hope that cools her down

Also pulled the front bumper. I'm going to build a new one.

All I really need to do to finish this thing up is get a bottle of gas for my welder then get a little practice on with it. Once I feel comfortable with my abilities I can weld my steering and trackbar up and it "should" be done for a while

Finally almost done... Longest project ever (lack of motivation & a new baby)

Got the trackbar, and both brackets tacked up and checked clearances. The driverside is at full bump

Bent up the tie rod to keep it out of the coil buckets and dif cover

Here's a pic from before the tie rod was bent. You can see how much I clearanced the coil buckets.

Just waiting on another stick of tube to come in the mail for the drag link and that'll finish this project up

You and i look to be slacking hard!

Steering looks good though. I ran my drag link below the knuckle instead of putting a bend and placing it on top.

It's back on its own weight just need to get some time at home to finish it up. I think I'm going to unbent the tie rod a little. I bent it to 12 degrees and it doesn't need that much.
