^^ no worries man! I got the yoke. will be sending it down to anch. with the rest of my junk. I said free so it will be free. pm me with your number and Ill get it stashed in the middle of everything.

got the crossover in last week. I have yet not called/researched to verify how much to torque down the kingpin bolt.

Engine/tranny/t-case instal shenanigans

My ghetto A/C heater box eliminator kit:

Got the wrong motor mounts, need to get 1974 motor mounts and finish installing the motor before I finish adjusting the suspension. I am pretty sure I am going to be losing the 2 inch square tube, front needs to come down 4-6 inches. Shackles are pointing straight up and down. with the removal of the 2" tube and moving the hanger to allow the shackle to swing back I should be very close to where I want to be.
Bed will be coming off thursday night.

Peter awesome news man! What time (approx) with that trailer be hitting the valley? I have some commitments Friday night and may need to arrange to have a buddy meet up with him for me if I can't be here.

If you remember could you please throw in the inspection housing on the flywheel and those couple of braces that go on it. They have to come off anyway to pull it if you haven't already yanked them. I have them on the current engine but one side is busted where the bolts go in and who knows perhaps the braces are slightly different.

general update:
bed has been sold to joe231
spent the week pulling parts to sell to fund more parts!
mounted the motor finally.
got the trans, t case and crossmember set in; Had to drill new holes. no biggie.
looks good with no bed...but I sourced out a long bed I am going to cut down to size later. dove tail in the works possibly. ...

when I wake up , I will be messing around with the suspension again. My goal is to lower it as much as possible and burn it in by the end of the day.

found some body damage to the cab around the doors.. seems like the guy i sold it to last had backed up and hit something or someone with the door. Jon pointed out the signs... my truck may have been used as a weapon or been victim to abuse, possibly from under the influence of some sort of substance. I mean.. I did pick the truck back up from a meth head's property last year...
I may be looking for a decent cab later. maybe a crewcab and build a super short flat bed? maybe a small bodied truck? meh, whatever, I will keep plugging away..

anyway, suspension update:
'I think this is where I will keep the front suspension, but there are some minor tweaks. Pretty close to being ready. I believe I got everything very close.. very very close. within 1/16 of an inch close. I am learning a lot from Jon and he has made given me quite a few pointers on how to set things up correctly which takes time and patience. I am going to fully weld it up sometime this week once I load it up on my trailer, level out the trailer, get final measurements, make needed adjustments if needed, burn it all in and add gussets.

I really like how the front settled in. With the 454 up front and 52's I am counting on this thing riding like a caddy!

Looking good man. When are you going to set her down on the AG's? That will be a pic worth posting.

Thanks for the yoke btw.

the Ag's go back in at the end of the year. My buddy who set up the rear end in my 01 dodge is renting them out from me for the mud racing season as payment.
unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances I have to put this on hold for a week or two. my cummins's wheel bearing needs replacement and that means it is time to pull the spyntec hub from the 01 dodge and put it on my 03 cummins wasnt planning on it. . . but it is what it is.

Been a while since I updated this thread.
I found out that the driver side spring was not giving me the right amount of lift. Ended up welding a 1 inch block to the top of the pad to match the height on the passenger side. I failed to realize the driver side pad was a little taller than a pair of pads for the rear.

Got the front bumper back on!

I ended up re re re wiring the cab as I was unable to get it to crank. Every time I cranked, I got the brake light. So... I got a donor truck with the right wiring harness. I ended up swapping in a tilt steering column too. The key turns much nicer now and I have become very familiar with how to tear down this steering column without messing around.

The steering column came out of the parts truck. Which I may regret already because I realized that the wiper switch is not on the column. So I improvised and carefully hard wired in this box (zip tied to the bottom of the column)

I hard wired in the wiper wires into the fuse panel, which connects to the wiper motor. I can plug in the newer style switch and make it work, it just wont mount on the column. .. I did this about 2 months ago and cannot remember if it worked or not…I have been super busy. With wheeling and fixing and trouble shooting my girlfriend’s s10.
I will have to figure out how I am going to control the wiper’s on and off switch later. I believe I can reuse the part truck’s old school wiper switch. The column switch from the newer models would not fit on the parts truck shifter .. If all else fails I can always swap in a whole new steering column.
I have been parting out the parts truck for extra money as well. I think I am going to cut down the bed and bob it to make it fit. or maybe flat bed it and be done.

Got the rear bumper in. Built a winch cradle. This will be removable in the event I need to mount it on my trailer to load a dead truck.

Or for this purpose:

I been busy these past 5 ish month with the new move and all. But I have also bee working on a few projects too
Here is the rear truss that I have had laying around. It is done.

I ended up welding. The tubes to the Housing.I plan o doing that to the front as a well.

Doubler studs were too long. Had to cut them about 1/4" and use red lock tite after torqing down.

I got the 203 from ole a few years ago and used the 205 that the in the blazer.
It weighs 150 pounds of awkwardness.

The 203 shift bracket I got from nwf was problematic as it would not bolt to the 203 without interfering with mounting to the trans adapter . Maybe it was supposed to bolt to the front side of the trans adapter? That thought just occurred.. Dang it. Anyway I ended up welding it to the adapter plate.

Don and Joe (couple of A/o guys) came over to help me get it up into the truck. Had to remove the doubler 1x because I had the wrong trans adapter . I went outside to pull the th400/np208 trans adapter. It is the recommended adapter for my nwf doubler kit. More to follow. As usual.

I picked up a Holley pro comp 950 fuel injection control system, a ram jet intake and a hacked wiring harness a few months ago. I'll be selling the 770cfm Holley truck avenger carb and aluminum intake for the 7.4 gm motor. I am also looking usable stock valve covers for a 1993 454. The valve covers I have are monsters. They barely clear the fire wall.

Crossmember/skid plate.
Half of it anyway

I read up/asked around on how to build a good crossmember and I found that the bushings need to be of the same material as the engine mount bushings.
I ended up using the typical GM trans mount bushing for the 205 t case. I will be using the same part to same mount on the transfercase/transmission adapter on the front part of the crossmember. The bushings on the sides are simply there to absorb vibrations and flex a little when the frame twists.

Been a while since I updated. Been busy with school. Work. Training. Etc etc.
Not much time has been put in but I have been tinkering.

I Expanded the t case mount a little and secured it to the frame brackets.
Poly bushings on the frame, standard /typical Chevy trans mounts (two) holding the cases and trans up.

Ended up selling the 52" ( 8 inched arched ) bds springs and went with some 52" main leafs that came off a well used 4" lifted(arched) Chevy pack. I was planning on running 52 " springs all the way around but the diy4x rear shackle hangars required 56 " springs, Which are sitting in the rear now.

I cleaned the pack up and painted too. The leafs just below the main had to be trimmed up. This thing has about 6" of up and 10 inches of droop. I can live with that.
