Scored some ubolts at 6 roblies, cost about 1/4 the price as anywhere else.

Being locked front and rear is like having a whole new jeep, hard to believe how much better it does now. The lower gearing really helps with the 36's.

I was the same way. Went from a welded 8.25 open d30 to a spooled 60 and welded 10.25. Night and day difference. Love it

Heck yeah.

I do need to find two TSL's or boggers, my fronts are about done for.

Ha left my jeep out there over night, my buddy ended up going down the same trail the next day and found my jeep so he took a pic and texted it to me.. Thought it was a cool looking pic, so I figured I'd share it.

Throw out bearing is making some noise... Oh I'm so not ready to drop the trans again.... Any suggestions on what brand TOB/slave I should get? This one only lasted about ~15k miles or so.

Went out and did a little recovery mission, buddy broke both front shafts and his winch was acting up...

Jeep did fine all the way out, then after I played in some mud my jeep started acting up again. Running real rough at idle, and any time I'd give it throttle it would instantly die, almost like all spark was lost. But would instantly fire back up, sound normal for a second or two then boom it dies.

I'd let it sit for 20-30min, fires up and ran normal, half way home (on the road) it died out of the blue, no warning or anything. Dash lights and everything turn off when this happened. Turned ignition off,
The cranked it over and same thing, fire up the n die right away. Let it sit, after a while it fires up and runs fine again.

Ideas? I'm stumped. I went threw and cleaned my grounds already.

I also decided I'm going back to a 33" tire so I can put some less chopped up fenders and eventually get a new header panel so I can legally drive on the road.

Also after the axle swap and the 36"s i found this thing gets really bad death wobble!

You get your running issue situated? My old '90 was doing the same thing yours is/was doing. Ended up being a crank position sensor (on top of the bell housing)

Had a problem with the same run ability issue on my friends jeep. It ended up being the crank sensor wires burned on the exhaust and shorted out.

Took it out on the 4'th, ran fine no issues all day other then a few nasty stucks.

I'll look into checking the CPS wires.

33" bfg's and my old wheels are on the xj now.
Now it's time to swap new fenders on it and get a header panel.

Little trim and some paint and the front ends good to go cosmetically haha.

When I went to pull the fenders off my parts rig, I found someone stole the steering collum and air filter... Who knows what else is gone that I didn't notice....

Trimmed out and painted.

Fixed what I thought was a bad throw out bearing...

Turns out the bell housing bolts backed out and the trans was sitting about 1/4" away from the block.

Tightened the bolts no more noise, guess I should check them more often then every 20k miles.

Been working on the ol' xj today. Replaced the radiator, cut and burned a peace of metal on the front so the sub frame is boxed in again.

Then I found out why I have had such bad death wobble sense my axle swap.
Track bar slides side to side in the axle mount, either the hole is egged or was drilled out for larger hardware and I didn't notice. Either way I'll be cutting off and replacing the axle side mount.

Good news is I'm going back to the slope... Might actually be able to sink some $ into this thing again. Haha

I have a set of my steering box Braces in the garage. They are 1/4" plate On the steering box side they use the three bolts that hold the box on and you can weld the rest of it on like I did or just leave it. The passenger side they are the same shape just without the steering box bolt holes so you can mount them how ever you want. Then you can mount your bumper off those plates.

The bumper is bent on the driver side, I plan on cutting the ends off and running it as a stubby bumper/winch mount. Only problem is the winch mount area is narrower then the frame area is. So either I can add width to it, start from scratch or get creative and have the mounts angle in.

I may be interested in some braces after a hitch or two.
