Default Landcruiser Rear Bumper

After tearing off a plastic end a few years back, my friend helped me out by taking off the rest of the bumper. I've started building a new one out of 3/16" box.
First, I chose to cut off the frame cross member bumper.

I cut 1 1/2" off the frame to tuck the bumper in closer but still be able to add swing outs for spare tire and ladder etc.
Here is it with mounts welded on and bolted up.

I welded in a receiver hitch and trimmed the ends. I killed my 4" Makita grinder- too much cutting I painted it up and called it good for now.

I plan to have some steel plate bent up to match the angle of the bumper and run it off of the frame to protect the rear quarters. I still need to make shackle tow points, swing outs, and cover the gap to the body line.

I'll post updates as I make progress.

Nice TLC!
Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him had better take a closer look at the American Indian.

We are told not to judge Muslims based on the actions of a few.

I suggest we give the millions of responsible Americans gun owners that same courtesy.
