Default Resurrected 89 One Ton Crew

So I picked up Johnny Wicks build...original link http://www.alaska4x4network.com/showthread.php?t=41379. The plan for the truck will be to use it as a hunting buggy most of the time with a little mild wheeling here and there.

She has been through a few owners since he built it but it's pretty much still in the same shape. I'm on the fence deciding between 44in Boggers or 18.4-16.1 AG's. Either way I plan on upgrading the Dana 60 to 35 spline outers with Yukon drive flanges (gonna leave the front open) and the Spicer Lifetime Joints (SPL55-4x).

As for the motor Im planning on replacing the coil with a Flamethrower, upgraded pickup stator, waterproof everything in the compartment, install a DIY snorkel, dual electric fans with an override switch. Other than that I plan on leaving the reliable TBI pretty stock other than maybe a mild cam in the future.

A few other things I plan on doing are replacing any major dented fenders/doors, repainting her olive drab, Rhino Lining the inside of the cab, moving the rear axle about 2ft foward, chopping the rear frame, POR15 the frame, and installing a flatbed.

If anyone knows how to get a hold of Johnny Wick that would be awesome cause I have a few specific questions about the components on the truck.

Weather has been pretty crappy but I was able to sand and remove all the rust on some extra fenders and throw some paint on them. Since is obviously too cold to paint the truck outside I guess I'll just remove panels/doors one by one and paint them inside. Passes the time I guess.

I had the bead pop off my rim and found it to be heavily corroded. Sanded it the best I could without removing the tire. Gonna paint it tonight, throw a cargo staple on it, and try to air it up today.

I ordered the 35 spline 4340 outers, Yukon drive flanges, and some Spicer SPL55-4x u-joints today. I really want to get some of the super joints or CTM's but I can't justify spending that much, I'd almost rather get the RCV axles!

Yukon super joints are what im running on my 2001 ram on 44s. Ford dana 60 ball joint axle w/ stock inner shafts. Locked front and rear. My only complaint is that when i turn it puts stress on the inner shafts' ears they warped a little. I had to tack weld the caps tobthe ears.

Im running 4340 outer 35 spline shafts, they have done well and havent warped.

I don't know if I can justify buying the Yukons, just due to the fact I have never even broke stock joints. Keep in mind the biggest I ran was 39.5's on a balljoint dana 60 but I beat the living crap out of it.

I'll run the 35 spline outers and the Spicer lifetimes this summer pretty hard with the 44in AG's and see how they do. If they break then Super Joints it is.

Haven't been on here for a while...too busy with spring projects and clean up!

I did however remove the whole front end of the body to do some rust removal and get new rust resistant paint on everything. I also took the Warn 12,000lb winch off for a rebuild and fount out that was toast!

I'm heading to diversified tire today to pick up my wheel blanks so I get started on my AGs.
I'll have some more updates soon along with pics.
