Default Wall street crash

So what are you doing different now that the stock market has crashed and the pillers of American finance are crumbling?

I just opened a new 401K Roth (looking for some good stock deals) and payed off my wifes car with Aunt Sarah's oil money.

I am investing. probably going to invest in .223/5.56 NATO and 7.62. Maybe a couple new pistols, a new revolver, and a few new rifles too.

I guess i just dont trust putting my money in stocks or banks even. I think we all know what could happen to it. I would rather have useful things i can account for and barter with, than loose all my money to a bank or the government. If the stock market actally completely crashes, no amount of saving will help you because money wont be worth anything. After all its just cotton and ink.

Gold is up, more than it wasa few years ago. Now would be the time to sell.

Dont buy gold.

It seems retail is still doing good but I am looking at the very long term right now. Right now Im dumping some cash into WaMu. There setup in a region pretty well to not go completly under. I would wait for it to drop down to 2-2.20 and buy again. Im waiting then Im going to buy more.

There is always a risk... I lost money on Bears Stern because my broker is too slow. With risk to make money you can loose what ever you put in too...

I'm keeping everything like it is. Actually trying to convince my Wife it's ok to have Stocks.. And to start her 401K... I will probably up mine in a few weeks.

Also have a Roth IRA and we're both putting money away into savings accounts.

The Government Insures up to $100,000 Per account, so it's no risk at all to have your money there. If you really think your bank is going to fold, move it to another one. But I don't see Alaska USA going away any time soon.

Was doing some reading somewhere and it seems WaMu looks to be closing down...get out!
If you want your cash to be secure buy property and sell it for profit as soon as possible...then stash the cash.

Yep... maybe exchange it fo Euros, as sick as that sounds. Our dollar will be worth absolutely nothing pretty soon. Change is already worth less than it costs to make... So is the dollar and five.

It could go either way at this point but there is risk again. Risk on a return or risk on a loss.

I am looking past the current market chrisis. WM is a long term inverstment for me...

That's one good thing about not having any savings.... ya can't lose what ya don't got

I have two retirement plans but it ain't really enough that I'd freak out if went down the crapper with the economy.

Market was back up 100pts this AM. It is just a speed bump. We are not gone yet. It would be a great time to buy though if you had some disposable income laying around.

I'm in my 20's and I'm not married so I couldn't give a crap how bad it gets. As long as I have enough money in my pocket to buy another 12 pack of beer then I'm happy

Because you are an amatuer collector compared to a kid who grew up 45 minutes from Ruby Ridge.

As an investor I thought what the gov did was going to happen but as a citizen I am a little pissed that we now have to pay off the banks bad debts...
