Default AK47 Value.

It is 7:09PM so I cant call around. I am interested in an AK, and I dont really know what they are going for new and or used. I have a guy that has one, but he says used its value is at least 850. And could get 1000 easily because of availability. I think its BS, I am curious what a fair price for a lightly used AK with a polymer side folding stock with two 30rnd mags would go for. Is that price right? I am doing a trade of cash plus gun for something of mine, the value of my end would be 2k. I said 1400 plus gun. He said 1k plus gun. Sound fair?

I bought my saiga 12 Russian shotgun for $650 before the chaos, they had a saiga Ak-47 for $700 bone stock

If it's worth "$1000 easily" then tell him to sell it and give you 2k.
To me, a trade plus cash for my item should benefit me, not the buyer, since more often than not they don't have the cash to buy the item outright. If they want retail/market value for whatever they're trading, I'd rather have the cash, since it's hardly ever exactly what you want.

I think your $1400 + the gun offer is good. As said above, this should benefit you.

Before all this gun bull**** started Chimo Guns had a couple racks of them things for $300-400 depending on condition. Sure they were "knockoffs" but nothing wrong with that... a 1911 not made by Colt type thing.

I wouldn't pay over $500-600 unless it's been unused or is something rare.

Sterling at Arctic Reloading on PW highway will give you a fair deal, and advise you of what any gun (especially AK derivatives)is worth. He usually has a good selection on hand. There are literally hundreds of variations.
In the meantime go to web sites like FALFiles.com (They have an excellent AK section) Gunbroker.com, Gunsamerica.com or do a web search for "AK 47" This should give you a pretty good idea of the AK in question. Good luck!

Hey, thanks a lot for all the info guys. I guess the thing for me is, I am trading a slide in camper that I got for 1k. So, I figure, if I get anything on top of 1k, I am golden. This camper isnt perfect. But it is a solid 92 Jayco 11 foot slide in. And its never had a leak. So, I figure its worth 2k. Although this guy is the only one that has called me in three weeks! LOL. So, even though I value my camper at 2k, doesnt mean it will sell for that. I started it at 3k just to see if anyone would bite or counter offer (where are peoples haggling skills these days??). Anyways, Ill try and load the pics up on here and see what you guys think of it. I am not knowledgable on AKs, so it is probably just a knock off. Lol.

NOT a Russian ak. Not a special AK. I would pay 6-700 dollars, maybe 800 since its and under folder, todays prices for it. I am also willing to bet the front sights are canted too.

The WASR-10 was imported as a single stack 10 round AK. The mag well is machined out to fit 30 round mags by Century and due to that fact it does not have the propper dimples, and instead has some sheet metal to support the sides of the magazine. Some fit 30s ok, others wobbble, while others are a tight fit.

THe front sights are usually not straight and need to be realigned too. Ive paid $300 to $500 for a wasr, depending one whats going on with supply.

They work but they are not a high end AK. If you really want it, get it. I would personally wait for prices to drop further or mail order one and get it shipped to an FFL.

WASR-10 is a $300-400ish gun. Higher right now if you want to play the game the huge POS in charge started. BUT I don't believe in him, so I don't play that game.

I will say, there are deals out there. Not bragging but if you look hard enough you can find them. I picked up last year a Aresenal ( Russian) milled reciever AK with hardly any rounds through it for $500. It is the smoothest and cleanest AK that I have ever handled.

Wasr is ugly as the day is long , THAT being said I own one and I love it , I opted for the non folding stock version. I think new they are $800-900. But like Nate said before the "Big O" they were 450-499 all day long . Check for canted front site block . They are the cheapest AK of the bunch , but mine eats EVERYTHING . no jams ever . its a great beater AK but not at the deal he is offering

I paid $375 NIB for mine in the spring of 2008. It came with a 30 round magazine, and I bought several more from Cheaper Than Dirt. I put a side folder on it for . . . $60? Back before the AWB circa 1992 or 1993, these were in the $100 range.

It's an ugly POS gun, but it's always worked just fine. Even at the height of the craziness, a used WASR wasn't going for $1000. The underfolder is a nice touch, but doesn't add more than $50 or $75 in my mind.

You can go down to Sportsman's now and buy a new AK variant of a higher quality (e.g. Saiga) for $650-750 range.

I wouldn't put that WASR at more than $400.

Was in Arctic Ammo and Reloading today, they had a comprehensive array of AK's, and AR's. I understand you are not looking to buy, I'm just offering a local source who has treated me fairly over the years.

That gun is worth 250 bucks. Don't fall for the "supply" bull****. There are guns everywhere now. People are just trying to squeeze every last drop of blood out of this.

Personally I will be that thing is a giant POS. So if he gives you 2k and the gun for your camper I say you are good.
