That looks like it'll cover your crash tendencies...LOL. Dont forget to gusset the upper windshield area corners and X bar the roof

I'm thinking you need to add more to this to keep the A pillars from mashing in just like the roof of you cab did.

Like Keith was saying this is just the start. We had a plan and like all the concerns posted we see them as well and there will be support in those areas. I think it will look good when its done. Just like the front of Keith's truck in the end it turned out sharp looking. I think it looks weird because there is no front part of the cab there. The cage follows the same lines as the original cab. Getting things to be sealed like a truck cab are going to be tough. Keith was talking about a thick sheet of plexyglass or lexan for a windshield. Still up in the air about the doors and windows. We tossed around some ideas like snap in plastic windows. The windows in the doors still work but they will just end up breaking because they don't have anymore support and building something to try and support them is more work than its worth. I think he should cut some half doors and have some snap in windows made up by Alaska tent and tarp.

Rather than all that trouble to fab a cab go find a junked body. Seems like the roofs rarely rust out while the lower half of the cab disolves away.

second that, and also plastic sucks for windows as it scratches when it gets mudd on it and you wipe it off... if anythign try to adopt a piece a flat glass and a gasket.

Time is an issue right now. Keith is headed north for a big job and when he gets back he doesn't want to wrench. It will be time to wheel. Plus a new cab doesn't fix the problem. If he rolls it again its going to crush again. This is fairly cheap and will get him through the summer.
After rolling it safety is more of a concern than looks right now. I am thinking about a cage for mine sooner than later now.

Don't know if Keith worked on the rig last night but this is kinda what we were talking about doing.

....And then cut the doors like this.

Talked to Keith and he cut the stuff off to take the rest of the top of the cab off. Guess he is thinking of going with a soft top now.

I agree definately the best build on the site. wasnt to keen on the ranger cab but what you've got now is truely unique the roll over was a good thing in the long run in my opinion improved the aesthetics immensly!!! good stuff man.
