Hahaha! This is Robert bell's old truck (my 2nd dad). I remember when he brought it home in San Diego. I will be looking forward to this build thread more than anyone else here! Glad it went to a good home!

It's a shame you couldn't have picked up his matching suburban. They made a great pair.

Well i Kinda Forgot about this thread

So to Start off man i am glad i did not drive it more then i did pulled the trans dust shield and the P.O had onlt installed one of the 3 Torque convertor bolts and it was finger tight plus no motor mount bolt on drives side and a completely broke motor mount on passenger side along with only 4 of the 7 bell houseing bolts got the motor removed and new one installed still waiting till i get home to go pick up 3 new torque convertor bolts for it and it will be drive able again

Here is a little video of her firing up had to set timeing at 10 degrees to make her idle and and have no stumble on rev along with no deiseling on shutdown

Now i just have get her repainted after breakup

also have a 84 2wd front end to go under her and a ford 9 inch for the rear and i will then be able ready to start on the inside of the truck.

It's great to see someone giving this truck some attention. The "P.O." always took it to a shop to have work done to it. Its a shame to hear it had fallen to such shape.

That sucks that a shop would do that I know talking with the PO him a one of his family members where tearing it down fora rebuild and they lost interest and put it back mostly together not a big deal as I had plans to tear it down over the winter and replace engine and other drive train parts
I will keep u posted

His son and I tore it down and painted it along with the suburban about 11 years ago. last I heard, ( about 2 years ago) it was running rough, so he took it to a shop and they told him the engine was toast. I don't think he believed it. He was on the fence with the truck ever since. With all the other things going on in his life, it was the last thing he had time for.
