Default Seward 7/30/11

Made a day trip out with B1 and his friend. I think it was His first trip out in his 18` skiff. No carnage to report as both boats ran well and the water was nice.

Fishing started off pretty good about 22 miles from port. The halibut were small but plentiful...we had doubles in our boats just about every drop. We kept a couple 20# fish and then an 18#r. We tried for quite a while to catch a larger fish but didn`t feel it was right to drag B1 out any further into the gulf waters. They did good on silvers/pink but by the time Steve and I got around to trying the action had died down quite a bit. We did get a 3 large rockfish but overall we came up short on limits. There`s always next time.

Some pics...hopefully B1 has some to add.

Too bad I had to work Saturday early. I was fishing the other side of the bay when you guys came back in. Heading down early Saturday again. Heard your boat ran well Jed. It was probably plenty fast. I bet yours is faster than mine. I burned exactly 7 gallons of gas fishing two days. :-) killed the silvers in derby cove Sunday in 6 feet of water. They were trapping baitfish against the shoreline. Very cool. Fishin 12-15 feet from shore.

All told, i think mine used 6.5 gallons of the good stuff. I really want a four stroke. If only for the fact that it would be quieter.
