Get a car dolly. lay a sheet of plywood across it and have a mini trailer.

The roof isn't designed to hold that kind of weight, so an exo cage of some kind would need to be fabbed up for sure. Not to mention having 600ish lbs on the roof would have an ugly COG!

Your idea might work, depending on how much your sled weighs... but you've probably thought about this stuff already.

You can make a removeable rack to hold it, but the weight up top makes it hard to drive. I helped build a rack for a wrangler a couple weeks ago to hold 2 stand up just skis. It works great, but driveability in the winter sucks. Ill post some pics to give you ideas if your set on doing it.

Yeah, no....

As bad as my grand rolls around, I couldn't imagine having a sled up there. I can feel the door handles are dragging allready!

Meh... I was desperate and it was the only working vehicle I had at the time. (I didn't actually drive anywhere like this but many other dumb things were done in this car.)

A stock ZJ roof will not hold that much weight. It would collapse if you hit a bump, or might even let go when you drive on it the first time.

You'd have to run an exoskeleton just to support it.

Get a cheap single place trailer or truck.

Why did you buy a snow machine int he first place if you had nowhere to put it?

There is always a storage unit.

There are sooo many things i want to say about this... first of all, I love how the sled is worth WAY more than the car. Prioritize. I understand. Plus, it's like the one month of the year that there isn't any snow. where is he going?

how long is your sled? maybe a reciever hitch mounted carrier? would prob be a little better than roof mounted as long as your sled is not over 8' wide....
