I think your talking about the ammo group buy I had done last summer?

The supplier I used ended up being a headache. I believe he is still advertising on Pirate if you want to place an order, but I would do so with extreme caution.

I had placed several smaller orders with him prior and I had no trouble.

This order worked out to be around $5,000 of ammo. It started out fine but as time progressed I was getting excuse after excuse about why I wasn't receiving the shipments or he would have time to post all sorts of stuff on Pirate but not answer my PMs asking for a status.

He promised the order to be filled in a month and almost 4 months later he had not completed the order. I had to file a claim with the California Attorney Generals office in order to get the $1300 back that he owed me. He complained at that point that he didn't have the money and wasn't working. The AG stepped in and I ended up receiving my money. (They considering it an inter-state fraud at that point... which from what I understand is a federal offense)

Also I received a few packages that were just flat rate boxes with the ammo dumped in. Those boxes aren't exactly sturdy so you can imagine how they held up with 40lbs of ammo in it. They were barely taped together and ammo was falling out!

Not to mention he can't legally ship ammo in a flatrate box.

That was on his end but he is a licensed ammo producer so I'd assume he had the correct paperwork and permits to do so.

It's 100% on him. But there in not a legal way to send ammo in the USPS.

Yes, Ammo. sorry, brain fart
I am going to be looking to spend 5-7 k depending on prices. I would be perfectly happy just getting supplies to load my own. I am hoping for 20k of .22, 5-10k of 9mm, 1k of .300wsm, 1k of .500 s&w, the rest of the money in 12ga.

I'm pretty sure you will have to find a new source, I don't think Nate would get involved with the same guy again, his ammo was OK, his business practices suck. I doubt he is still around for Alaska customers.

An alternative might be to get a dealer here to make the purchase on his FFL. The only way I see that working is to have all documentation and funds available, up front. I doubt we could get all our shizz in one sock, too many variables.

Turk,
You might try talking to Sterling at MatSu Tactical, on the PW highway. IDK where he buys ammo, he does reload, but I don't know at what level. The difficulty is getting everyone to agree on a single source/supplier. Wouldn't hurt to ask Sterling, or your favorite shop owner.

That can happen, with disastrous, if not fatal results, the guy we were discussing reloaded, AFAIK all the ammo discussed in this thread, haven't heard of any problems with his ammo, just delivery. ANYONE selling reloaded ammo should have a maufacturers license and be insured.

DiamondK sells 55 gallon drums of brass. Most popular calibers too. Last I checked it was 8K$ for a 55 of 223/556.

Also, I have been getting projos from a company called Everglades Ammo. Fast free shipping, and the bullets are pretty accurate.

the machine gun club does a group buy every year. I know a few people have ordered with them in the past, including me. they usually ship up a few pallets at a time.

Ok? I'll $hit you out some in a few minutes along with firing out the morning Obama.

That's about $6000 worth of ammo.

Doesn't matter the cost . Not like you can find those quantities anyway and I highly doubt anyone will ever do another group buy anyway

If an energetic, driven person wanted to assume this role, it would probably be welcome. Getting a consensus among everyone involved for sources etc., would be the biggest hurdle to overcome.

Don't know or care. I'm too busy sucking on Barack's teets while watching Soaps all day and throwing back Keystone Ice and Hot Pockets.

Yeah I know. I guess after about 8 beers I thought what I wrote was funny. Doesn't seem quite so funny this morning though?
