Default Homer 7-2 7-3

Went down to the spit for some ocean action. Motored around the bay for a while, until I found a productive spot. Fed more cod than any other fish. Girlfriend caught a 20lb butt, and a small Irish Lord. All I caught was stupid cod.

Fyi they opened the Poot to dipping, but the reds have yet to arrive. So I'm told.

Had a pretty good trip otherwise. The NOAA site called for 3' seas, rain, and a SW wind of less than 10kts. Turned out that it was darn near glass out on the water most of the day, with a slight chop/wind coming later on in the day.

I really want to explore this area more in the future.

The cod are rediculous this year as well as the arrow tooth flounder. Glad you bagged a buttfish out of the deal though.

How`s that boat running?? Forgot the specs but seem to remember it was a larger Starcraft???

I broke down and bought a little smokercraft. The starcraft is still on blocks waiting for a million bucks. Its a great little boat, only drawback is that it has a 2 stroke on it and i wont be able to dipnet out of it this month.

Meet me in Seward the weekend of the 15th and you`ll catch more than you could imagine. Bring salmon and bottom tackle.
