Default Grouse

Went out opening week...nothing. Went all over...Started in Sutton/King River, Buffalo Mine, then just ended dinking around at Jim's creek. Anyone have any luck yet? Also, how do you get onto base to hunt? Or is it even possible for a civilian? Do we just need proof of insurance and to register all our guns? My dad and I used to go out there all the time...but its been so many years, and since I was young, he was always the one dealing with all the stuff, now I'm going out alone. If I remember correctly, you have to have a hunter ed card just to hunt on base. Thanks!

Saw a ton of them on Denali Highway last week.

South! To be specific, down Oilwell road. Popped one amongst a group of 6, but only had the bolt action on me at the time. I've read and heard they have been hunted out by various groups in mass around Swanson river road and mystery creek road, but they are still there. Guaranteed their will to survive surpasses ours and or ideas of "where" they should be won't always coincide. Just keep hunting and they'll be around when they are.

Take care
