Default IR photography

Anyone done it? I'm tossing around the idea of converting a 40D or somthing cheap to IR only (maybe full spectrum, but its not as outthere lookin)

only costs around $325-500 to have it done professionaly, or you can buy the filter for the sensor for $180 and risk destroying your camera...

it just looks like fun... any thoughts?

Ive tossed around the idea, would be awesome up here during winter I'd think. If you could find like an OG rebel that would be cool. I saw a few shots from one when I worked in the camera shop. Awesome stuff.

I have shot with IR film before. It is pretty cool. It can definitely give your pictures an eery haunted house type of look though. I don't think it would be all that interesting in winter because of the lack of color but maybe. My favorites were portraits and cloud scapes.

I have an EOS3 that you could convert to full time IR film.
