Default Salvage Yards in Mat-Su w/Vintage Chevs?

I will be working on three different Chevrolet projects this summer during my visit... my '47 Chevy Sport Coupe, '71 El Camino and Dad's '53 Chevy Pickup. Not sure really what sorta work I'll get handled, I am going to try to get each one running at least. Then maybe get the '53 driving so my Dad can actually use it.

Inspired by Chevyman's DeSoto posting up about what he found, I got to wondering what good yards are left out in the Valley for old vintage iron? I used to go out to Little Cache a lot, but the day I went in there and he had crushed about 12 of his '64-'72 El Caminos 10 years ago or so I just never went back.

Little cash was great. They had some old stuff, but I think they have rushed most of them. There may be some still in there. I'm not much help with gm stuff. Old ironis hard to find. Now if you need ford stuff....

I've been told about a location that has a lot of pre-'88 Chevy stuff. I haven't seen it yet. I'll post what I see.

I have a couple things left over from my Chevelles and El Caminos Vic.
Get ahold of me when you get back, or when the snow melts. We dig around and see whats here.

You can always ask to see if you can walk around the Vine lot. Also, I have a 51 GMC 5 window cab, a bed, rolling frame, etc. if you need any of it, let me know.

Not yet, SWMBO hasn't let it get very high on my priority list, we just bought a skidsteer loader that needs some work, that I hauled on a tailer that needed some work, pulled by the Babe Mabnet which needed some work, see where this is headed? Ill keep you guys posted, ths place is supposed to have Chevy trucks from the late 40's until the mid 70's. Let me know if you are interested in anything in particular.

I need some body parts for the wife's '66 Chevy pickup.
Hood, cowl panel, and trans hump inside the cab mainly.

There was a mid 60's truck free on CL not long ago, it was a C50/60 size truck, but most of the cab stuff is the same.I'll keep my eyes peeled for your
wish list.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know where there's a 68-72 Corvette or possibly a 67-69 Camaro that's not beat to hell, with or without an engine? I'm thinking about switching out from my '68 Mustang project and going back with a Chevy.

I'v walked threw there yard several times over the years, all the cool old school stuff is to the right and all the way back in the woods. Might have some luck looking there for older projects.

Joe, this the style of truck your looking for parts for?

That's a 60-61, the cabs are pretty much the same from 60-66, sorry Joe, didn't mean to butt in.

No worries Shack!

Crdude, there are some parts that I could use from that style.
I need a 64-66 hood and cowl
Where did you find that one?

Its been on my mothers propperty sence before she bought it back in the late 80's.
Its a ol' 305 V6, 4 speed 2wd. I hooked up a battery in it 5-6 years ago and it still turned over fine, I never botherd hooking up a coil to see if it would run or not.
Never really thought about pulling it out of the woods to mess with it, if I were to spend my time on a vehicle thats sitting up there I'd pull the old 55' merc or the willys wagon with a flat head V8 in it out.
