Default Where and when can I go fast? Race Event Schedules...

I've done some reading and searching about races and asphalt events and I found a few. I'm gonna tinker on my 2wd toy all winter and my goal is to participate or at least go to all of them I can next season.

I built a very fast and clean Red V8 Gen 1 S-10. Are there rules or safety requirements that I should start on now.... Maybe Line Lock for burnouts or tire, cage or safety belt requirements for a track? My rig won't win but it'll be great competition and is built to have fun all day. My wife and I have been watching a TV show called Street Outlaws a lot lately and it's awesome! I've never raced a clock yet so I don't really know what I have besides it'll get me in serious trouble if I step on it for more than a few white knuckle seconds it in town...

Should still be links to "rules" on the alaska raceway parks website. shouldn't be too many for the s-10. basic safety items. seatbelt, neutral safety switch that works, coolant overflow reservoir, etc.

Thanks very much. Yeah, those were the only 2 race events I found. It looks like I'm gonna be a regular King of the Street guy at the Alaska Raceway next season. The Tanacross GTX class is the one I'll fit into but that's only twice a year and a 5 hour drive. I'll go to the first one I'm home for and just watch to see what it's all about...

All I need to do to Drag Race my S-10 for King of the Street is build up a set of Traction Bars and swap out the clunky open 3.42 rear end to the locked 4.88 9.25 in my garage. I'm gonna read up all I can and hopefully have no surprises before the green light.
