Default Mabels grand daughter flossy

Well I brought home my next moneypit. 2006 mustang gt, auto, 4.6 3v, bone stock except a set of wheels.

Before you guys whine about me buying a slushbox instead of a manual here's why:

1000 rwhp daily driver

I've always wanted a big hp car and to break into the 200mph club. Figured I'd cross 2 things off the bucket list with this one.

Plan is:
Mmr 5.4? 1500 capable shortblock
4v ported cobra heads
Stage 2 turbo cams
88mm single or twin 76mm turbos
Full billet tranny and a good convertor
3.08/detroit rear. Not sure if 8.8 or ruffstuff 9" housing

Still confirming plans, need to call mmr and get their take.

Gotta sell my harley to fund the engine build. So..anyone want to buy a custom bagger???

Was thinking about shipping the car to mmr but after talking to the owner of underground performance I think I might just do the mech work and have them tune it. Anyone have any opinions of there abilities?

Nick does all the tuning on my 450whp Subaru, and I buy all of the go fast parts for all of my stuff from them. I've known him for 4-5 years and he does great work.

Well I think I've lost my mind. Or just made a smart move. Not sure which. I sat down and started doing some math, to get the gt where I want it its going to cost me $48k.

So I went and bought an already built car.

I bought a zinc yellow 03 cobra with a built engine and tons of bolt-ons. All I need is a bigger blower to be where I want to be power wise.

It was for sale down at payless earlier this yr, anyone know it?

All I've got for now. I'm taking it down for some dyno runs on the 4th as long as it doesn't snow.

Any wagers on what it puts down?

5.0 stroker
Ford gt cams
Upper/lower pulleys
Elect waterpump
Safe canned tune
Accufab tb/kn intake
Longtubes and exhaust
Ford gt fuel system
Prob some more stuff I'm forgetting

My guess is 575.

Lol good thing I didn't put money on what it was gonna make. 450/497. Maf is maxed out, tune is way off, blower is the next limiting factor.

Looked like a diesel belching black smoke due to the comp dumping fuel to "safe" cause the maf and tune.

Long story short, don't trust canned tunes!!

Pulling the tranny out this weekend for the rear main swap. Also going to start on the subframe connectors and possible cage.

Found a t56 magnum with a dual disc on cl I'm going to throw back into it.

I looked at that car a few months ago. I talked to the owner of that place and he said he's good friends with the owner of that car. Said he builds a car like that every couple years then gets board with it. Guess the guy is a manager at one of the big hotels in town.

They have a nice looking V6 Stang down there now, it's black but for some reason it has little chrome fender accents..

Well I've got her all jacked up and I'm pulling the tranny to replace the rear main this weekend. Fun fun! Figured while it was out I'd go ahead and swap the stock t56 for a magnum model with a dual disc clutch hehe.

I've got a date with the dyno towards the end of feb for a full tune. Hopefully nick will be able to un fruck this thing and get it to run like a built cobra should.

Looking at blower upgrades....ported m122 off a 5.4 gt500 with the adapter $1500. Or a tvs 2.3 off a '13-14 gt500 (same 650 $ adapter) about 2k with everything or drop 6k on a 4.0 whipple.

Decisions decisions

Well I got the clutch and flywheel off. Guess what? The rear main is perfect. Some azzhole torqued the hell out of the oil pan, putting all kinda of waves in it. Apparently if tight is good tighter is better. Oh well, built an engine support and moved my jacks around, dropping the kmember tom night so I can get the pan off and try to fix it at the shop on tues.

Should be picking up my t56 around xmas, gotta stuff her back in and get it ready for the jan tune session.

Well I pulled and straightened the pan, got it all put back and filled with royal purple. Got the front suspension back together and started on the subframes. They are turning out well and should tighten her up a ton. If those don't work then the 8 point cage I just ordered will! God I love amazon! Prime rocks! $6.99 shipping and $228 for an 8 point. Hopefully picking up my tranny soon.

Not close enough lol. I've got the 4 point welded together and the top painted. I set the main hoop and slid the headliner back in, man was it tight. "Touching" is an understatement. Pulled the hliner and welded the rear bars in, (I'm really happy with the hobart 140 btw) now I'm painting the top because there is no way to get paint on it later.

Well the cage is done and painted, the subframes are finished, t56 magnum is installed. Bought a ported tvs blower the other day. She'll be 600+ to the ground by the time this white crap is gone.

Waiting on my adapter plate for my blower to get cut. Should be done by next week. Got my gt500 tb ordered along with my maf. Got my fuel lab electronic regulator in today to go with my behind bars race cars tank and fuel lab 1500hp intank pump. Ordered up my diff cover and some full tilt boogie irs goodies. Ya I'm going to have a whole new car when I'm done lol. So far I've done the magnum swap, badazz ported tvs, and a full fuel system return style good to 1500hp. Plus tons of little stuff.

Depending how your rear suspension is setup, and how well the rear tires hook. A low-mid 11 should be do able. A clean launch and 60' times are gonna be your enemy with the IRS setup though.
