When one of us couldn't make it up one of the long hills, we decided not all of us needed to try it. Since we could not continue as a group, we decided to turn around at that point.
Don't try to be smart, at least we tried it. |

that was a smart decision and one that would fall under tread lightly sort of, cause one truck didnt make it the rest didn't try thus not causing further damage to the hillside

No ones trying to be smart your highness. I saw the pics, I asked a question. It was too slippery there for my van last time as well. The view from the top is great. Glad no one got hurt doing something over their head.

Had a great time. Couldn't have asked for a better day. It was alot drier than when I was up there earlier this year. Since we could only get to the bottom of the big hill, we explored some other trails. Post pic link tomorrow.
I really did appreciate the concern and discussion in the planning thread. Now I know I am new here and many don't like me instantly for my associations, anyways: Now for what really sucked a$$. I heard from a couple people that they were getting pm'd left and right to stay home, for various reasons. They read the concerns in the thread just as I did. I decided to play it by ear and see what it was like that day then go to where its safe and turn around. Some listened to all of this anti-wheeling banter and stayed home and another was thinking of staying home and was glad he went. Some people can take advise, then make a good-safe decision themselves without help from everyone pm'ing them begging them to stay home. Well, whoever you are, you won, our turn out was very low. I thought we were supposed to be about wheeling not anti-wheeling.

So what associations do you have that the rest of us need to hate you for?

I agree we need to be out wheeling. I have not read anything regarding the planning, But we do need to wheel responsible. I was not on the trail, but it sounds like you all made the right decision. Enjoying the trail and not destroying it is what I believe we need to be doing.
