Looks like a fun trip. I can't believe the scout was out there again. I would be a little gun shy.

WHAT A BLAST! That is just the way to bring in '08! Perfect folks to run with & it was good to be on the trail with new & old friends. I think the guys in the gold ford got bit real hard! I will see what I can round up for pics.

Knik always amazes me for what seems a 1+ trail at times, really took its toll on alot rigs last night including mine .. with me sliding down a short but steep hill i hit a rock dead on pushing my radiator fan into my fan shroud bending the fan bad enough to cut a nasty hole in the radiator ..

but curtis , cory and Ian all helped me pull my radiator out of the truck and we pinched off all the broken rows slowing down the leak ... and thanks to wasilla boys in loaning me a bunch of their supplies and a bar of quick steel ..

this fix was good enough to put it back in the truck and was able to drive on her own power all the way home back to wasilla ! .. i pulled over at the open water and refilled the jugs and pinched off another small leak and used what we had left of the quick steel and it sealed off the last of the leaks (good stuff )

the weather was great , we ate real good food (thanks ) and seamed any one who drove a ford that day was doomed LOL ... they all came back in 2wd .. except for the stocker ....

we also had a c clip axle in a jeep walk out on the way home but group behind us with cory's help used a ratchet strap and a log and liberal use of motor oil on the tire got the truck back to the trailer ...

in the end the whole group stuck together and helped out when needed and everyone got their rigs home ...

to all those that donated antifreeze and parts please let me know so i can get it back to you .. thanks alot ..

And Happy new year !

The TJ survived another trip without breakage! Had a great time on my first trip and I am looking forward to another trip before the next semester starts on the 18th.
A few pics.

Cool fix Cory, I have seen that done a few times it always seems to work ok.

What time did everyone get to the parking lot? Did anyone else see the Dipsh&t kid in the Dodge Avenger out on the trails? No rear tire on one side when he passed the Zuk at like 40 MPH in one of the gravel fields. He was stopped farther down the trail, the car was WRECKED and he was asking me how he could get back out to the highway so he could drive home. He wasn't drinking that I could smell, but he was deffinatley jacked up on something

Did you guys stay the night Jes? either way go to see you made it back...

What the heck is a Dodge Avenger? No goons around on our way out. Hey, I smell hot rubber! lol I think all who run Knik or at least don't know the place well should have a GPS unit of some sort. You never know for what reason you may need to navigate out of that place in the dark. The axel in the CJ is not a C-CLIP style axle. The bearing was wasted & that let the axle walk out of the housing. Once the rollers melt/fall out the drifting will start. One real good thing is that it did not happen on the road & the guy trailers the CJ-7. Perfect trip!

Even if you do know the area it would be good to have one. After seeing yours I am looking. Have to decide between a locker for front or a GPS.

Just make sure your U BOLTS are tight & all the other stuff is way strong. I NOTICE YOUR rear shick mounts hang way low on the rear axle. Good trip!

We forgot to post up last night but we made it home around 1:30AM. we had a great time. thanks for everyone hospitality. i would really enjoy going out with yall again. i think the most trouble i had was the hill on the glenn in Eagle river. my jeep would only go 40 up it. lol. i'm glad everyone made it back and no dark blue TJs went in through the ice. my jeep is good to go on another trip. you all are a great bunch to wheel with and i would go again anytime. big thanks to everyone. the guy on the honda rubicon was with us and he had a great time as well. when is the next trip? i don't know how to post pics but i have a few good ones.
