Default 1974 gmc build/slacker restore

i picked up a 1974 gmc sierra grande from behind the goldhill gas station in ester, the registration expired in 1984, so it had been sitting a while. started a 1/2 ton long bed with a 350/350/203..stripped her down and the fun begins..i had already built the axles, engine, transmission, t case for this. 383 balanced, 10.5:1, dart heads, 750 edelbrock, flowtech afterburned headers. th50 b&m 2000 stall converter, tci complete rebuild kit, shaved direct drive piston to make room or more plates, stage 3 shift kit, np205 re-sealed. D44hd upfront, 4.56 open carrier, gm 14bolt ff, 4.56's and a lockright. 4inch lift pro comp shocks, "custom" brakeline brackets, about 75 cans of spray p[aint.....pics coming soon...as soon as i can figure out how

im in fairbanks, none of the junk yards here have any good old gmc trucks with exterior trim in them, are there any places in the anchorage area that are known to have good older gmc/ chevy truck parts?

That's going to be a detonating sum-biatch at 10.5:1.

lmc doesnt have much if anything for any trum that says GMC on it, im missing a tail gate letter "M" and the passenger side corner trim that runs under the rear window. green is ok but BRIGHT GREEN, GRABBER GREEN to be precise is frickin awsome, it will definatly stand out. as for the detonation, its made to run on premium and maybe a lil help from some avation fuel....10.5 is a guessish, there 10.4:1 flat tops with only 2 valve reliefs and the block had to be shaved a lil bit due to pitting, the motor is designed to make gobs of power, think of it as a muscle car in a trucks body

At what RPM though? High compression, high stall, gobs of horse power are not needed for a wheeler. Sure, it's nice to clean the tires out in the thick stuff, but 99% of the time you need a torque motor that builds it down low. So, IMO, you were right to build the stroker as they produce more torque, but the other stuff will be a hinderance on the trail.

I'm assuming it's cammed up as well?

its not cammed up to bad, more of an rv cam on steroids, its a comp xtreme energy, 262/267 duration with .462/.467 lift and 110 ls, its not so much a trail rig as a 4wd pavment pounder, we have alot of "look what my daddy bought me" kids here who think there trucks bad, i decided to make them wrong

what you laughin at? and im also tired of hearin " i got a built 350" by that they man a set of headers and chrome valve covers, it may as well be a sleeper, just with trim, keep in mind i did the paind job with rattle cans, so its quite a bit less than perfect lol
