got a buddy here who has been running corn oil from deep fat fryers as an exsperiment. His rig runs good an acctually runs smoother with more power. One problem he has been working on is filtration. Oil collection is time consuming and he's evaluating wether all the time consuming work is worth it. He has currently three suppliers of the oil. His exhaust smells like BBQ..

This is a very good thread to read from the TDR website. A guy from Billings Montana has been brewing his own Boi Blend since 05 and has been reporting results running it in a 04 and 05 Dodge Cummins. Everything is working out great for him. He has even found ways to combat the cold weather issues. Like mentioned above, is it really worth the time to collect and make the fuel? For me I say no, I work 10-12 hours a day and want to enjoy the Alaska outdoors in the Summer. I think it would be a great idea if someone had the time to collect the oil and make your own fuel. But how much fuel so you spend driving around collecting oil, cost of power to heat and make the fuel, etc? Too much time/work for me to worry about at this point in my life even at $5.00/gallon. Yikes!!

another thing he has dual tanks and runs diesel in one and corn oil in the other. He runs off diesel for the first 10-15 min to warm the engine then switches tanks.
